The Student Bar Association is Fordham Law’s student government, elected by and representing over 1,000 students. The SBA plays many roles: it oversees more than 40 student groups and organizations, provides financial support to all student organizations and ensures that funds are spent properly. It also provides students with an effective means to work with one another and the administration to help ensure that students undertake their legal studies in an optimal setting. To ensure that end, the SBA also sponsors various social activities and educational programs throughout the academic year.
The Executive Board is elected by the student body every spring and consists of the President, Vice President, Vice President - Evening, Secretary and Treasurer. Senators are appointed to oversee committees such as admissions, community service, career planning and social events. Each fall, 1L section reps are elected by each first-year section. They meet with the Executive Board as advocates for the concerns of 1L students and organize educational, social, and community service events for their individual sections.
