Fordham Law Student Advocates for Sexual Health and Rights (ASHR)

Fordham Law Student Advocates for Sexual Health and Rights (ASHR) aims, in solidarity with community groups, to advocate for and build awareness about the sexual health and legal rights of marginalized populations, including sex workers, LGBT people (with a strong emphasis on transgender rights), people with disabilities, and communities impacted by HIV/AIDS, both in New York City and globally. Advocates for Sexual Health and Rights believe in the health and human rights of all people, regardless of their gender identity or sexual and economic practices.

ASHR seeks to provide law students with opportunities to gain practical experience in the field of public interest advocacy work focusing on sexual health and rights. ASHR also hopes to help law students think critically about why certain groups and human rights issues are marginalized even in the field of public interest.
