 The Dean Acheson Legal Stage Program

Through the United States Embassy in Luxembourg Fordham Law is pleased to announce the Dean Acheson Legal Stage (traineeship/internship) Program at the Court of Justice of the European Communities.  These stage opportunities for periods of not more than three months are offered to a limited number of students or recent graduates from select U.S. law schools.

Fordham Law School offers J.D. students the opportunity to work in excellent law firms and courts around the globe.  Please contact us at lawstudyabroad@law.fordham.edu if you are interested in pursuing an internship abroad. 

 Application Procedure

Before you Apply

Once you have consulted with the Office of International and Non-J.D. Programs about an internship opportunity, you will need to complete the application process by submitting the following documents to lawstudyabroad@law.fordham.edu in either .pdf or MS Word formats:

• Resume or curriculum vitae;
• Unofficial Fordham Law School transcript;
• Statement of interest in the program(s) to which you are applying;
• Targeted cover letter(s); and
• Statement and/or proof of language proficiency, if required.

In addition, you will need to provide the name of one Fordham Law full-time faculty member who can speak of your qualifications for this position.

Students interested in the Ghana or Korea programs should follow the application guidelines and procedures outlined on the respective program webpages, as indicated above. 

There will be a mandatory information session for J.D. students who are interested in pursuing study abroad or international internship opportunities.  Please refer to the student newsletter for updated announcements about the date, time and location of the meeting. The meeting is not mandatory for Korea or Ghana opportunities.
