Job Experience

David M. Cohn is a Senior Appellate Counsel at the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney's Office. He argues regularly before the New York Court of Appeals and the New York Appellate Division, First Department. In addition, Prof. Cohn is in charge of training for the Appeals Bureau, and he teaches CLE classes for the District Attorney's Office and for the New York Prosecutors Training Institute. Previously, Prof. Cohn served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye of the New York Court of Appeals, and also as a staff law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In 1994, he graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as a comment editor for the University of Chicago Legal Forum.
