A judge yesterday doubled prosecutors' bail request for a crazy-for-Madonna retired firefighter who professed love for the pop star outside her Upper West Side home.

Robert Linhart, 59, will have to now raise $20,000 bail or cool his heels at Rikers Island until trial, said Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Frank Nervo.

Linhart vowed to the cops who busted him that he'd make bail and resume his vigil outside Madonna's West 64th Street apartment. "I'm going to go right back there and do it again," he allegedly told them.

Linhart was busted twice outside Madonna's home, Saturday and Tuesday.

"It's not a crime to adore Madonna," said his lawyer, Cheryl Bader.

And while Linhart allegedly possessed a homemade ice pick when he was arrested Tuesday, "There are no facts at all to support that he was going to use that ice pick unlawfully," Bader said.

Linhart, who lives in upstate Huletts Landing, retired from the FDNY in 1998.
