Fordham Law Professor Joel R. Reidenberg appeared in a video report on the New York Times Dealbook blog on December 10, 2010. He discussed the trial of former Goldman Sachs computer programmer Sergey Aleynikov.

Reidenberg, Stanley D. and Nikki Waxberg Chair and Academic Director of the Center on Law and Information Policy, said, "This case is being brought under two different statutory counts. One is an economic espionage case, which is a federal statute; it's a federal violation. That violation is based on a theft of a trade secret. ... The second is a computer hacking offense, which is a federal statute. This particular instance involves unauthorized access to information on a computer."
