Roxana Popescu graduated from The Law School of the Freie Universitaet Berlin, receiving the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst Prize for Outstanding Results of a Foreign Student. I have concluded my LL.M. degree in International Business and Trade Law at Fordham University, being awarded the Edward J. and Elizabeth V. Hawk Award for the highest cumulative grade.
Prior to the LL.M. program, I have worked at the Romanian Permanent Mission to the European Union in Brussels, in the legal department. I took part in projects pertaining to European Private International Law, in particular the draft Regulation on the law applicable to contractual obligation, the draft Regulation on maintenance obligation, the draft Directive on mediation in civil and commercial matters, as well as the draft Rome III Regulation.
In 2006 I have worked in Berlin, at the Naumann, Beister & Strey Law Firm, in the areas of insurance and contract law. In 2004 I have worked at Lucian Pomana Law Firm in Bucharest, in particular in the areas of administrative law and contracts.
