Experience

Eric is a Partner and Head of Allen & Overy's U.S. M&A practice. Eric has over 25 years experience advising on U.S. corporate and M&A transactions. He has represented principals on negotiated and hostile acquisitions and dispositions, private equity firms in connection with investments in public and private companies and investment banking firms in connection with their activities as financial advisor in acquisition transactions. Eric has advised a number of U.S. and international corporations including General Electric, Novartis, Thomson Corporation, Tyco and SAP on their domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Eric is a former member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and the Association's Corporation Law Committee. Eric was recognized as a leading individual in Chambers USA 2009 and 2008: "Eric Shube heads the M&A practice; his work includes advising Novartis on the acquisition of a 77% stake in Alcon. 'Shube sees the bigger picture - he'll answer both the question you asked and the one you really should have been asking.'" Eric began his legal career as an Associate in the Corporate department of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and prior to joining Allen & Overy, was Head of the New York M&A practice at Vinson & Elkins in New York.
