The Dispute Resolution Society Advances to Top 16 at Arbitration CompetitionApril 15, 2013
The Dispute Resolution Society team of Evan Hess ’14, Taylor Hahn ’14, Kelly McCullough ’14, Laura Miller ’14, and Vanessa Paradisi ’14 were among the top 16 teams at the Willem C Vis East International Arbitration Competition. Hahn and Paradisi were each awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Oralist.
Ninety-five teams from around the world attended the competition, which is held annually in Hong Kong. Participants are given the opportunity to argue in front of leading international arbitration practitioners.
“I am very proud of the Vis East Arbitration team,” said coach Shannon Turner ’13. “Their hard work and dedication, along with the invaluable support of the DRS, resulted in outstanding work.”
Team members received valuable assistance throughout their preparation from Professors Vikki Rogers and Matthew Parrot, Vis West Coach Bill Crowe ’13, Society Chairperson Rob Sanzillo ’13, Managing Editor Caroline Billet ’13, and Competitions Editor Julia Belagorudsky ’13.
