Fordham Law Welcomes Delegation from Teaching Arm of Legal Services Firm in SpainMay 26, 2014
Fordham Law is delighted to host a group of students from the Master in International Business Law program at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues in Madrid, from May 26–June 7, 2014.
The delegation will take specially designed classes at Fordham Law on the U.S. Legal System, Comparative Corporate Law, International and Comparative Law, International Bribery and Corruption Law, Contract Drafting and Negotiation, Intentional Arbitration, International Regulation of Cross-Border Mergers, Intellectual Property, the Role of the Company Ombudsman, and Litigation Management for the International Lawyer.
Instructors for the program include Matthew Asbell, partner at Ladas & Parry; Kent Bernard, Vice President & Assistant General Counsel and Deputy Managing Partner of the Pfizer Legal Division (retired); Martin Flaherty, Leitner Family Professor of International Law and Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Joseph R. Crowley Program in International Human Rights at Fordham Law; Martin Gelter, Associate Professor at Fordham Law; Sean J. Griffith, T.J. Maloney Chair in Business Law and Director of the Corporate Law Center at Fordham Law; Jose Luis Guerra, Assistant General Counsel at JP Morgan Chase; Toni Jaeger-Fine, Assistant Dean for International and Non-J.D. Programs at Fordham Law; Thomas H. Lee, Leitner Family Professor of International Law and Director of Graduate and International Studies at Fordham Law; Jay Safer, partner Locke Lord; and Timothy Shore, Chief Ombudsman at Pfizer, Inc.
In addition, the group will visit the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York, where they will meet with the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff; White & Case, where they will meet with Oliver C. Brahmst, a partner in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group and a member of the Firm’s Partnership Committee; McDermott Will & Emery, where they will meet with Peter Sacripanti and Michael Huttenlocher, partners in the firm’s litigation and arbitration practices; Bloomberg, where the group will meet with Karl Kilb, Director of Market Relations of Bloomberg Law; and the Commercial Division of the New York State Court, where they will meet with various judges.

The two-week program will conclude with a celebratory dinner and certificate ceremony.
